Fibalip is a kind of drug that functions in the body lowering the elevated blood lipids or triglycerides and cholesterol. This medication reduces the cholesterol biosynthesis.
Fibalip is prescribed to treat hyperlipidaemia of Type IIa or cholesterol, IIb or cholesterol and Triglycerides, III or cholesterol and Triglycerides, IV or triglycerides, and V or triglycerides. This medication could also be prescribed in other purposes not mentioned here.
There are some situations in which taking this medication is not good. Talk to your doctor first before taking this medication if you have liver disease or dysfunction, gall bladder disease with or without cholelithiasis, have or is hypersensitive to this medication, or renal impairment. It is not known whether this medication could cause harm to an unborn baby. Talk to your doctor first before taking this medication if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during the treatment. It is not known whether Fibalip passes into breast milk. It is also not known whether this medication could cause harm to a nursing infant. Talk to your doctor first before taking this medication if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Follow the exact direction given to you by your doctor in taking Fibalip. In case you did not understand the instructions, do not hesitate to ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse to explain them to you. To get the most benefit, it is advisable to take Fibalip as directed by your doctor.
You may obtain the dose of this medication from your doctor. Follow the exact dose given to you by your doctor. The dose will vary from person to person. Do not change the dose unless told by your doctor to do so. The dose will depend on the disease or disorder being treated and the condition of the patient.
In case you suspect an overdose of this medication, look for emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately.
In case you miss a dose of this medication, contact your doctor immediately and ask for instructions. Do not take a double dose of this medication unless told by your doctor to do so.
In some cases, some side effects occur during the treatment with this medication. Some of the side effects of this medication are gastro-intestinal symptoms like loss of appetite, feelings of fullness in the stomach and nausea; gallstones; allergic reactions like pruritis or urticaria; lowering of haemoglobin and leucocytes, and thrombocytopenia; muscular weakness, severe muscular damage; and pain and muscle cramps. Some other rare side effects are Alopecia and potency, and headache and dizziness. If you experience any of the side effects mentioned, contact your doctor immediately or look for emergency medical attention. Other side effects not mentioned here may also occur. Inform your doctor if you experience any unusual or bothersome side effects.
Other drugs prescribed together with Fibalip may result to undesirable effects. Some drugs that may affect Fibalip are sulphonylureas and insulin; anion exchange resins; perhexiline hydrogen maleate or MAO-inhibitors; and oestrogens. Talk to your doctor before taking Fibalip if you are taking the said medications. If you are taking the said medications, your doctor might no it allow you to take Fibalip, adjust your dose or require you a special monitoring during the treatment with this medication. Other drugs not mentioned here may also affect Fibalip. Talk to your doctor first before taking medications other than those he recommended or other than Fibalip.
