Mometasone

Structure

Mometasone Cream
Mometasone Furoate USP 0.1% w/w in a cream base q.s.

Mometasone Ointment
Mometasone Furoate USP 0.1% w/w in an ointment base q.s.

Mometasone Lotion
Mometasone Furoate USP 0.1% w/v in an aqueous base q.s.

No Prescription

Mometasone Cream, Ointment and Lotion are prescribed for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Dosage

Apply a thin film of Mometasone Cream or Ointment to the affected areas once daily.
Apply a few drops of Mometasone Lotion to the affected areas once daily and massage lightly until it disappears.
As with other corticosteroids, therapy should be discontinued when control is achieved.
If no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, reassessment of diagnosis may be necessary.
Mometasone (Mometasone) should not be prescribed with occlusive dressing unless directed by a physician.
Mometasone (Mometasone) should not be applied on the diaper area if the child still requires diapers or plastic pants as these garments may constitute occlusive dressing.
Mometasone furoate is not recommended in paediatric patients below 2 years of age.

Contraindications

Mometasone is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity.
