Reductil

Reductil is especially recommended for those who in addition to being overweight have other health problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.
Reductil helps the seriously overweight shed pounds and keep them off.
Reductil is prescribed in conjunction with a low-calorie diet.

Contraindications

Reductil is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- if you are allergic to Reductil;
- If you are prone to gallstones;
- if you have heart disease;
- if you have heart failure;
- if you have irregular heartbeat;
- if you have liver problems;
- If you have narrow-angle glaucoma or thyroid problems;
- if you have severe kidne;
- if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure;
- it could make the problem worse. Avoid Reductil completely if you've had a stroke or suffer fro;

Interactions

Do not take Reductil with any of the following drugs:
- Zolmitriptan (Zomig);
- Venlafaxine (Effexor);
- Tryptophan (L-Tryptophan);
- Sumatriptan (Imitrex);
- Stimulants such as amphetamines, Dexedrine, Desoxyn, Adderall, Didrex, and Ionamin;
- Sertraline (Zoloft);
- Pentazocine (Talwin NX, Talacen);
- Paroxetine (Paxil);
- Naratriptan (Amerge);
- Meperidine (Demerol);
- Lithium(Eskalith, Lithobid);
- Ketoconazole (Nizoral);
- Fluvoxamine (Luvox);
- Fluoxetine (Prozac);
- Fentanyl (Duragesic);
- Erythromycin (Eryc, Ery-Tab, PCE);
- Dihydroergotamine (DHE Injection, Migranal Nasal Spray);
- Dextromethorphan (found in many over-the-counter cough preparations);
- Alcohol(excessive amounts);

Dosage

ADULTS

For those who experience side effects at the 10-milligram level, a 5-milligram dose may prove sufficient.

If you have not lost at least 4 pounds after 4 weeks, the doctor may increase the dose to 15 milligrams daily.
The starting dose is 10 milligrams once daily.
This is the maximum if weight loss still fails to appear, Reductil will be discontinued.

Use of Reductil for longer than 1 year has not been studied.
