Skelaxin

No Prescription

Skelaxin is a muscle relaxer. Skelaxin is prescribed to treat pain and stiffness in muscles caused by strains, sprains, or other injury.
Skelaxin is prescribed for the treatment of painful musculoskeletal conditions.

Contraindications

Skelaxin is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
- Anemia or blood disorder;
- Kidney disease;
- Liver disease;
- An unusual or allergic reaction to Skelaxin, other drugs, foods, dyes, or preservatives;
- Pregnant or trying to get pregnant;
- Breast-feeding;
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Skelaxin or any other drugs.
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist what script and nonscript medications you are taking, especially medications for seizures, allergies, colds, or coughs pain medications sedatives tranquilizers and vitamins.
- Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had kidney disease, liver disease, seizures, or a blood disorder.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking Skelaxin, call your doctor immediately.
- You should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how Skelaxin affects you.

Interactions

Do not take Skelaxin with any of the following drugs:
- Alcohol or drugs that contain alcohol;
- Antihistamines;
- Drugs for depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions;
- Drugs for pain like codeine, oxycodone, tramadol, and propoxyphene;
- Drugs for sleep;
- Phenobarbital;

Side Effects

Skelaxin side effects that you should report to your health care professional or doctor as soon as possible:
- Difficulty breathing;
- Skin rash;
- Unusually weak or tired;
- Vomiting;
- Swelling of face, lips, or tongue;
- Yellow eyes or skin;
- Headache;
- Irritability;
- Nervousness;
- Stomach upset;
- Drowsiness;
- Dizziness;
- Upset stomach;
- Vomiting;
- Headache;
- Nervousness;
- Severe skin rash;
- Difficulty breathing;
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes;
- Unusual bruising or bleeding;
- Unusual tiredness or weakness;
- Seizures;
